Hi, I'm Meg Noom. My writing name is Ploom de Noom. I'm a Kiwi and while I've lived in many beautiful parts of the world, I'm grateful to now live in Australia, on Larrakia Country.

When I began writing, I was working in the academic sector and I was cautious about sharing my own name on my work. I felt it could lead to some pretty confusing search results for clients, so I went on the hunt for a clean, tidy and professional pen name.

While smashing out some house chores a few years ago, I listened to Elizabeth Gilbert's Ted Talk on creativity. Elizabeth spoke about various cultures attributing creative success to entities outside the artist, whether that be a god or a strange creature living in your walls!

This less ego-centric approach intrigued me, and I decided that I'd let my pen own my writing. Thus, my nom de plume became Ploom de Noom. It isn't normal, professional or tidy, and that's probably why it stuck.

My reading list is very diverse; I don't stick to a genre or theme and this is reflected in my writing. I enjoy zany, silly, heart-felt adventures where the only true themes are found family, self-love and peen jokes.
